Together with the amazing team at V Squared Labs, we have been stunning viewers of American Idol with Emile as the Creative Director for the top-rated show’s 11th season. Working with an elegant, yet epic set designed by frequent VSL collaborator, Heather Shaw of Vita Motus, the VSL team has employed many of its standard 3D mapping tools and techniques, in addition to developing some new resources specifically for the show. Together with the award winning choreographer team Nappytabs (Napoleon and Tabitha D’umo), he was in charge of enhancing the contestant songs choices with immersive visual backdrops. These backdrops or “looks” were created at a enormous resolution (14600 * 1752) and at a even more mind-boggling time-constraint. But together with these great 2d and 3d Animators, support on set, sweat, tears, and tons of coffee we are very proud of the end-result that was ultimately viewed by millions and millions of viewers at home.
